Fourth Element, our equipment sponsor, has provided the team with their latest in wetsuits: the 5mm Proteus. Together with a Thermocline vest and with 3mm hood and gloves, this package will serve us during the long deep dives on our upcoming trip to Egypt.

Jim Standing, director and co-owner of Fourth Element assured us we will be warm enough during the longer runtimes, spending up to 120 minutes in 23 degrees water. In the meantime, other divers have told us that the Fourth Element suit is warmer than others in the 5mm range, so we should be comfortable under water.

The extra neck seal prevents water to ingress and ensures an excellent thermal protection. Although the Proteus has no ankle zippers, the material stretches very good and the seals glide very well over your skin, making it easy to get on and off. On top of that, the wetsuit looks very good too!

The owners of Duikcentrum "De Grevelingen" were very helpful to assist us with the sizing and fitting of our suits. The next day, our T-shirts and sweatshirts arrived, so the Submerge Productions team is now ready to go!
